Electrical Assembler

Nexeya is currently seeking a qualified Electrical Assembler  for our Markham office.


This position is responsible for the assembly of electronic components, sub-assemblies, products, or systems. Applicants must be detail oriented, precise and a fast learner, be able to read and write english and follow and understand written and verbal instructions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical equipment including:

    • electrical panels​

    • power supplies

    • back boxes

  • Read work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.

  • Apply basic electrical wiring protocols in the absence of detailed instructions.

  • Be able to crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, or solder.

  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment (specialized equipment training will be provided).

  • Mount assembled components, such as metal works, transformers, printed circuit boards or chassis panels.

  • Be able to properly handle ESD sensitive components.

  • Connect lead wires to printed circuit or route and connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points, using a variety of connectors.

  • Installs finished assemblies or sub-assemblies in cases and cabinets.

  • Perform 'in assembly' go / no-go testing and  inspection.

  • Complete assembly paperwork and ISO forms / templates.

Requirements and Skills: 

 

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience electrical assembly.

  • Knowledge of electronic components and assemblies.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Have a sense of urgency and accountability.

Physical Effort: 

Lifting

  • 50 lbs plus – occasional (up to 30%), where over 50 lbs lifting must be done by two people.

  • 20 to 50 lbs – frequently (10% to 100%).

  • 1 to 20 lbs – most frequently (50% to 100%).

Walking

  • 100% of the job requires walking. 

Standing

  • Up to 100%.

Bending/Crouching

  • Up to 50%.

Reaching

  • Above shoulder height – up to 25%.

  • At shoulder height – up to 100%.

  • Below shoulder height – up to 100%.

Sitting

  • Up to 80%.
