Electrical Grounding Issue Grounds Aircraft



16 Operators of a popular aircraft have been notified by the aircraft OEM of an electrical grounding issue creating power system faults. The fact that the tail numbers of the affected aircraft is known points to the rigor of the OEMs quality control processes.


Electrical testing, at every phase of the manufacturing process; from cables and harnesses, connectors, back planes, etc is paramount. Even if the fault does not pose a risk to the passengers or crew, aircraft downtime is an expensive event.
